Please Note:When reading this unlock LG phone guide, please keep in mind that some phones can be unlocked using a freely available method while others require purchasing an unlock code or unlocking devices (this depends on the make and model of your phone). For phones where you have to purchase an unlock code, please note that these codes are generated by a third-party server which requires a fee to be paid, thus we cannot provide a free solution for these phones. If a free unlocking solution is not provided on this website for the particular make and model of your phone, or if you are not comfortable unlocking the phone yourself, you will need to use the Pro Unlocking section of the website and purchase an unlock solution.

The following LG models can be unlocked freely:

unlock LG phone solution:

1. Switch your phone on with an accepted SIM card.

2. Download the phone unlocking software by clicking here.

3. Once you have downloaded the software, extract the zip file into a folder. If you do not have winzip, get it for free at www.winzip.com.

4. Run the GTCLwin software by clicking it.

5. Enter the IMEI number for your phone in the "IMEI" field (see the "unlock cell phone" FAQ on the Home Page if you don't know how to do this).

6. Enter all other necessary information such as:

Make: Select the make of your phone from the drop down list (should say "LG" since you're unlocking a LG)
Model: Select your model number from the drop down list

IMEI: See step #5

7. Alternatively, if your model doesn't appear in the drop down list, you can download a different phone unlocking software by clicking here and following steps 3-6 (the alternative software file has a happy face logo on it).

8. Click on "get codes" or "calculate" (depending on software) to generate the unlock code. The unlock code will be the last set of digits.

9. Then enter the following code on your particular phone:

2945#*5101# (if you have a LG 510W, 510, 520 or G510)
1945#*5101# (if you have a LG 1200, B1200, or M1200)

2945#*5101# (if you have a LG 1300, B1300, M1300, or W3000)

2945#*70001# (if you have a LG 7010 or 7020)

10. Go to "Menu" and select "Settings", then "Security", then select "Network Provider" and finally select "Deactivate".

11. Enter the unlock code generated in step 8 to unlock your phone.
